  3. Mac OS X & macOS names. As you can see from the list above, with the exception of the first OS X beta, all versions of the Mac operating system from 2001 to 2012 were all named after big cats.

Apple's macOS Server (formerly called OS X Server) is specially designed for macOS and iOS powered hardware devices to easily configure iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Mac devices, share files, sync contacts, schedule meetings, publish wikis, develop software, remotely access network, host own website and many more things in easy way. MacOS Server is the software application available for macOS. Just like that, your Mac is a powerful server. The new OS X Server brings even more power to your business, home office or school. It’s remarkably easy to install, set up and manage. And new features make it faster than ever to download software across your network. Add OS X Server to OS X Yosemite from the Mac App Store.

Mac

Apple continues to develop and support macOS Server, which includes Open Directory, Profile Manager, and Xsan management. The most popular server features—Caching Server, File Sharing Server, and Time Machine Server are bundled with every installation of macOS High Sierra and later, so that even more customers have access to these essential services at no extra cost.

Mac Os For Server

Starting with macOS Server 5.7.1, Apple no longer bundles open source services such as Calendar Server, Contacts Server, the Mail Server, DNS, DHCP, VPN Server, and Websites with macOS Server. Customers can get these same services directly from open-source providers. This way, macOS Server customers can install the most secure and up-to-date services as soon as they’re available.

Apple has published documentation to help with this transition.
